The lawyers for embattled dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel could seek his release on bail today, when the artiste returns to the Home Circuit Court.

Kartel, who has been in custody since September last year, is accused of the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.

Williams was reportedly beaten and stabbed in Havendale, St. Andrew, on August 16, but the police have not located his body.

The attack on Williams was reportedly in relation to a lost firearm.

Five other men are charged jointly with Kartel in connection to the killing.

They are fellow deejay, Shawn Campbell, more popularly known as Shawn Storm, Kiro Jones, Shane Williams, Andre St. John and fashion designer Calvin Haye.

Haye is out on bail.

The police have told the court that they have video and audio recordings linking Vybz Kartel and his co-defendants to the killing.

The police said they also have eyewitness statements connecting the men to the murder.
