Nearly 50,000 people have joined founder Gemma Raeburn-Baynes for the celebration in the past 12 years. This year’s theme is “A Caribbean Escape” and the festival will feature over 75 dishes from 16 countries, including Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, Haiti and Guadeloupe.

Dishes will be prepared by local and visiting executive chefs like US Virgin Islands native Leslie “Theo” Gumbs, a former Island Chef vs Iron Chef winner. Guests are invited to enjoy musical and dance performances, sample award-winning rums and browse through the Marketplace. Chef Cherrie Jones, also known as Miss Grenada 2011-2012, will serve her native dishes, marrying fine cuisine and exquisite beauty. The Republic of Trinidad & Tobago is also celebrating their 50th anniversary and will celebrate with a “Big Trini Lime” (grand Trinidadian party) with Steelband, Calypso and Mas !

A Taste of the Caribbean is also proud to announce that Grenada Spicemas Carnival will do its Montreal Launch at the Festival, adding more fuel to the already fire. Think of an all-day jam with Grenadian Calypsonians, Grenadian Food and Grenadian Shortknee.
